(2 Credit Hours) An advanced course in sports medicine which is designed primarily as a lecture/discussion course with reading and assignments for comprehension and clarification. Covered aspects of therapeutic modalities include purposes of modalities pain, electricity, electrical applications, ultrasound, infrared modalities (heat and cold), as well as other common treatments of sports injury. Included will be indications, contraindications, and specific usage of each modality, as well as application for choosing particular modalities in injury situations. Prerequisite: PE 251. F, S
