(1 Credit Hour) The Fundamentals of Work Force Training and Safety course is designed to acquaint students with the basic issues of individual training and safety in a business manufacturing, and industrial environment. Issues of individual work requirements and ethics will be presented. Safety involves close communication and coordination between management and employees to insure the workplace environment is safe and any potentially unsafe issues are promptly communicated and corrective action is taken. Students will learn the basic safety issues of occupational health and environment control. The following subjects will be discussed: employer and employee relations; profile of an outstanding employee; ethics in the workplace; personal protection and use of personal protective equipment; hearing protection; respiratory protection; safety management of hazardous chemicals and waste materials; bloodborne pathogens safety education; machinery safety; and medical and first aid procedures.
