(3 Credit Hours) The text used for this course requires two semesters to complete. The National Electric Codebook is used extensively throughout this course and its prerequisite companion-course, Residential Wiring I. This course is designed to provide students who have a background in basic electricity sufficient information to enable them to function well in a training environment as a trade apprentice/journeyman and function with minimum technical oversight. This course deals primarily with residential wiring and related systems. The course is meshed with the National Electrical Code; its study constitutes a significant portion of the course. This course should be taken after the student has completed a basic electronics or electricity course. Instructor approval may permit this course to be taken without the above prerequisite, or to be taken concurrently with basic electricity.
