(3 Credit Hours) This course is the third course in a series of four in the Cisco Systems Cisco Networking Academy curriculum. This course focuses on LAN design and provides hands-on experience with LAN switching. Topics include Novell IPX, IGRP, and use of Access Control Lists. The key product of this semester is team design of a local area network (project entitled "The Threaded Case Study") and preparation of supporting documentation. Upon completion of all four semesters, students are expected to be qualified to take and pass the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) exam. CIS 260 Cisco Academy IV (3 Credit Hours) This course is the last in a series of four in the Cisco Systems Cisco Networking Academy curriculum and focuses on WAN concepts and design and three principal WAN routing protocols, Point-to-Point (PPP), Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), and Frame Relay. Teams of students will complete a WAN project as a continuation of the Threaded Case Study. Upon completion of this final semester, students are expected to be qualified to take AND PASS the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) exam. Much independent work is required. The on line textbook is designed to facilitate this self-teaching. You will do most of you lab assignments in the router lab. To stay current with the class, you must complete each meeting's work PRIOR to class. Work you way through the Chapter, Do as much of the assignment as you need to do to feel comfortable with the material.
