(3 Credit Hours) This course is designed for education students who need to be prepared to handle the realities of the multilingual classroom. Through a brief analysis of language, an overview of second language acquisition (SLA) theory and practice, and a variety of classroom activities, students will begin to internalize the principles behind SLA in order to recognize and capitalize on opportunities for fostering language development in the multilingual elementary classroom.
