(3 Credit Hours) The basis of this class is the integration of computer applications, and the use of digital equipment. The purpose is to teach the student to use the computer skills he/she has learned, effectively in a business environment. In most cases, the student will be responsible for determining which office application to use to complete a task. The student will be expected to compose various business documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. Digital equipment, including a scanner and digital camera will be utilized to instruct the student using OCR software, as well as image editing software. The student will incorporate edited images and scanned text into various projects. Instruction on writing data to CD and zip drives for backup and other purposes will also be included. Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office XP is assumed. Pre-requisite: CS101 and preferably BST150, BST 130, BST 160.
