(8 Credit Hours) This course is available to previously licensed LPNs and LPNs who have not been actively working in the clinical area. The course reviews the concepts, theories, and skills required to successfully practice as a practical nurse. Included are nursing standards, legal aspects, communication skills, basic human needs, principles of growth and development, and nursing process. Care of persons with common recurring health problems is addressed. The refresher course consists of 60 theory hours and 180 supervised clinical hours. D AH 201 Nutritional Gerontology (3 Credit Hours) This course is designed to provide an understanding of the nutritional needs associated with the aging process. Emphasis is placed on meeting the nutritional needs of the older adult. D
