This course provides the student seeking a degree in Information Technology with an introduction to the worldwide computer network. The course uses a hands-on approach to teach the history and capabilities of the Internet. Students are provided the following instruction: how the Internet works as a network; about multimedia used on the Internet; and Internet security. Prerequisite: GSTD 0253 Developmental Writing and GSTD 0103 College Reading or equivalent placement scores. (3 SCH)
