This is an introductory networking course for students majoring in Information Technology or computer science who have no previous networking experience. Subject material includes network terminology, standards, hardware, media, architecture, and protocols. Local-area networks (LANS), wide-area networks (WANS), and the OSI model are studied in detail. Students are introduced to routers and router programming, and to network (IP) addressing schemes. Course helps student prepares for the CompTIA Network + and the CCNA examinations. No pre-requisites; but college level reading skills are highly recommended (3 SCH)
