A nursing elective course that provides the learner with additional opportunity to enhance knowledge and skills in the practice of nursing while under the direct supervision of a registered nurse preceptor. Affiliating hospitals provide preceptors along with monetary compensation for the learner during the summer externship program. Credit, three semester hours.
