3 CR. This course provides an overview of social work methods with an emphasis on case management services. Students will use observational, problem-solving, recording, and relationship-building skills to explore topics such as the history and development of the social service profession, the nature of social work practice, the interface between individuals and the environment, and ethical dilemmas inherent in case management, including needs and issues related to developmental and physical disabilities, socioeconomic status, education, substance abuse, and family violence.
