Class 8. Prerequisite: NURS 1117 - Foundations of Nursing and NURS 1132 - Math for Nurses. NURS 1228 must be taken concurrently with NURS 1223 Clinical Practicum. Students will acquire knowledge of the nursing process in the practice of safe nursing care of families experiencing childbearing, childrearing, and selected medical/surgical problems. Focus will be placed on needs and developmental theory. The role of the student as a member within the profession will be expanded through recognition of accountability for nursing practice and identification of the need for personal/professional development.
