3 CR. Surveys the ways in which technology interacts with music, from microphones to MIDI. Starting with the fundamentals of acoustics, concepts and processes of sound reinforcement, recording synthesis, and manipulation will be discussed. Includes hands-on experience with digital recording, MIDI, music notation, and other computer-based music applications. Introductory computer skills required.
