3 CR. Students will examine the tools available for securing a company's electronic assets from threats including hackers, industrial espionage, and denial-of-service. Analysis of case histories will be combined with a survey of currently-available hardware and software alternatives to equip the student to recognize and understand e-commerce security issues and their potential solutions. The course assumes some familiarity with the internet, World Wide Web, computer network terminology and concepts, but does not require hands-on technological expertise.
