5 Credit hours 90 Contact hours Enables students to examine the truth about our physical reality through reasoning, mathematics, and experimentation. Covers kinematics, force, gravity, energy, momentum, torque, rotational dynamics, fluids, and waves. Concepts and theories presented in class are explored through demonstrations and hands-on experiments. The first semester calculus-based physics course is recommended for students entering engineering or one of the advanced sciences. Prerequisite: Successful completion of MAT 201 (grade C or higher). Course Note: This is a statewide guaranteed transfer course.
