4 CR. A follow-up to Introductory Chemistry, designed to enhance student knowledge and skills in the specific area of organic chemistry. The course will include a general overview of typical organic compounds such as alcohols, ketones and amino acids, as well as a presentation of important biological compounds and processes that are of particular importance in the life sciences. Lab work will provide an opportunity to observe physical and chemical behavior of these compounds and processes. Prerequisite: Introductory Chemistry.
