9 Credit hours 135 Contact hours Addresses the requirements necessary to perform at the first level of progression as identified in National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1001, Firefighter Professional Qualifications. This is a lecture and lab course for meeting the NFPA 1001, Level I, standard using IFSTA Essentials. Prerequisite: Requires acceptance to CCA Firefighter Academy; be 21 or older; meet all current civil service and physical fitness requirements for hire by a Colorado Fire Department; and possess EMT-B certification by academy start date.
