9 Credit hours 272 Contact hours Upon successful completion of the course, including written and practical examinations, and being at least 18 years of age, candidates are eligible to take the EMT Certification Examination subject to the requirements of the Colorado Department of Health and Environment. Prerequisite: Successful completion of ENG 060 (grade C or higher) or equivalent assessment score. Co-requisite: EMS 136 and EMS 170 (Student must enroll in same section as EMS 125) for a total of 11 hours. Course Note: The first class date is a Mandatory Orientation for all students. It is strongly recommended that students also enroll in HPR 178: Medical Terminology (online)-2 credit hours.
