3 Credit hours 45 Contact hours Surveys events, trends, peoples, groups, cultures, ideas, and institutions in United States history, including the multiple perspectives of gender, class, and ethnicity, between the period of the American Civil War and the present. A principal focus is on developing, practicing, and strengthening the skills historians use while constructing knowledge in the discipline. This is a stand-alone course; HIS 201 is not a prerequisite. Prerequisite: Successful completion of ENG 060 (grade C or higher) or equivalent assessment score. Course Note: This is a statewide guaranteed transfer course.
