3 Credit hours 45 Contact hours Surveys a number of events, peoples, groups, ideas, institutions, and trends that have shaped Western Civilization from 1650 to the present. Reflects the multiple perspectives of gender, class, religion, and ethnic groups. A principal focus is on developing, practicing, and strengthening the skills historians use while constructing knowledge in this discipline. This is a stand-alone course; HIS 101 is not a prerequisite. Prerequisite: Successful completion of ENG 060 (grade C or higher) or equivalent assessment score. Course Note: This is a statewide guaranteed transfer course.
