3 Credit hours 45 Contact hours Introduces students to the issues of race and ethnicity. Emphasizes ethnic relations in the United States as it pertains to four major groups: Americans of African, Asian, Latino, and Native descent. Students explore issues of racial and ethnic identity, racism and discrimination, stereotyping, prejudice, segregation, colonialism, integration and acculturation. Prerequisite: Successful completion of ENG 060 (grade C or higher) or assessment scores. Course Note: This is a statewide guaranteed transfer course.
