This course expands on theory and practice related to nursing care focusing on acute and chronic healthcare needs of medical-surgical patients and the childbearing family. In clinical, nursing care responsibilities are experienced in the acute care, obstetrical and community-based settings. Students will organize and prioritize components of care at the practical nurse level for two - four clients/ patients. Professional accountability at the practical nurse level is emphasized.
