This course introduces the role and interaction of theory and practice to the beginning nursing student. Opportunity for client/ patient data collection and initiation into nursing care responsibilities are introduced and practiced in longterm care and community-based settings. Emphasis is on the collection and organization of data related to the physiological, psychological, sociocultural, developmental and spiritual needs of the client/patient. This information will be used to guide nursing care to promote, maintain or enhance adaptive responses that contribute to health.
