This course emphasizes the higher level nursing roles found in critical care and community settings. Course content addresses critical illness, discharge planning and caring for clients in communitybased settings. In clinical, students will plan and deliver individualized, holistic care to seriously ill patients in the medical-surgical area. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in the care of critically ill patients and clients with mental illness. Students will have an opportunity to observe nursing care being delivered in a community- based setting.
