Introduces the nursing process and assessment of universal self-care demands, abilities and limitations. Presents helping methods of doing, supporting, guiding, teaching, and providing a developmental environment in the campus and clinical laboratory. Focuses on clinical decision making and interventions specific to universal self-care of clients who have moderate limitations. Introduces the health care system and professional nurse behaviors. Case-based instruction, small group discussion, and mastery learning techniques are used. Proficiency examinations are available. Prerequisites: Admission to the Associate Degree Program in Nursing Course fee
