(Formerly ELT 115) An introduction to electronic measurement techniques, the identification and testing of electronic components, and Ohm's law and power law. Lab safety concepts, proper use of basic laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMM, power supplies, frequency counter and signal generators are introduced. Additional topics include: soldering and desoldering of components, breadboarding, how to keep a lab notebook and schematic reading. The student will be expected to pursue and complete a laboratory project of his/her choice with the instructor's approval. Corequisite: EET 170 Course fee Offered spring only.
