Prerequisite(s): SSV 183 or SSV 221 and 12.0 reading level. An in-depth examination of the effects of drug and alcohol abuse on families and how to assist family members in understanding and coping with the substance abuser. The approach will be experiential, emphasizing learning effective skills and strategies to use when counseling the families of substance abusers. Students will learn through role-playing and group interaction. 3 hours lecture.
