Prerequisite(s): ENG 101 or concurrent enrollment or permission of instructor; and either RDG 110 or RDG 122 or exemption. Recommended Preparation: SOC 101, PSY 101 or ANT 102. A study of the way culture shapes and defines the positions and roles of both men and women in society.Major emphasis on social conditions which lead to sex roles and may lead to a reduction of sex-role stereotypes and to a broadening of sex roles. Also includes an analysis of the implications of potential social change. 3 hours lecture.
