Prerequisite(s): No prior felony convictions and no misdemeanor charges for offenses involving violence or weapons.Nomisdemeanor arrests within six months prior to Academy application. Recommended Preparation: High school age. An introduction to the police department and law enforcement in general, including the agency's role in the community and within the criminal justice system. This course is designed to better acquaint the youth of our community with the operation of the local criminal justice system and to foster law enforcement as a career choice. This course may be taught on a pass/fail basis. 3 hours lecture.
