Introduces the student to the popular 8051 microcontroller. Topics include the hardware, software, and interfacing of the Intel 8051 microcontroller. The emphasis is on interfacing the 8051 to real-world devices such as switches, displays, motors, and A/D converters, through assembly language and possibly C language programming. Prerequisite: CST 109 or CST 116; and EET 122
