PREREQUISITE: BIO 103 (RECOMMENDED 4 SEMESTER HOURS OF CHEMISTRY). This course includes historical perspectives, cell structure and function, microbial genetics, infectious diseases, immunology, distribution, physiology, culture, identification, classification, and disease control of microorganisms. The laboratory experience includes micro-techniques, distribution, culture, identification, and control. Two 120-minute laboratories are required.
