This course is designed to familiarize students with music representing the great stylistic periods of music history. Following a brief survey of music prior to 1450, a more intensive study is made of selected works from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary periods. The characteristics, which distinguish the music of each period are covered through aural and visual study and analysis. For music majors or students with advance musical background.
