This course represents the second half of the introductory course in Classical Latin in which two language skills are emphasized, namely, reading and writing. Correct grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation are stressed and readings from the Classical Latin authors enhance mastery of the Latin language through exposure and practice in the classroom. The course continues to introduce information regarding Roman culture and civilization through history, arts, literature, and cultural settings. Prerequisite: LANG 1940 Elementary Latin I
