As a second half of an introductory course in the Spanish language, this course directs the course participants' attention towards vocabulary not only basic but with particular emphasis on things medical and surgical and language necessary to provide direct medical care to Spanish-speaking patients. Listening and speaking are integrated with reading and writing. Proper pronunciation is emphasized. Further aspects of Hispanic culture, regional differences, and civilization are presented. Reading from written medical Spanish materials augment the basic textbook at the discretion of the instructor.
