Introduces the critical areas of business law that relate to the daily operations of the funeral service profession. Covers the law of contracts, torts, trusts, sales, secured transactions, negotiable instruments, agency, corporations and other business associations, bailments, probate and estate property rights, criminal violations as well as an examination of our courts and civil procedure. Specific instruction given to the areas of law dealing with funeral service including regulations dealing with disposition of dead bodies, rights and responsibilities of the funeral director, and state and federal regulations governing the industry. Although the course is structured for students from any state, reference will be made to applicable Arkansas laws. (F, even years)
