This course covers the design and interrelation of electric power plant system components from the main generator through the switchyard including system relay and protection schemes and zones. Topics include: power distribution transformers, transmission lines, generators, auxiliaries and excitation, generator testing, inspection, and maintenance. Safety procedures and system checks related to placing system components in and out of service will be emphasized. Recommended prerequisite: EL 15013 Electricity II.
