This course shall provide the student with the required knowledge to fit pipe to be welded with the SMAW welding process. Through an established progression of practice the student should become proficient at welding pipe in the 2 G, 3 G, and 6 G positions. Qualification will be available to those who achieve that level of expertise. Tests will be conducted in accordance with ASME Sec. IX Pipe Welding Code.
