This course covers the design and operation of steam turbines and related auxiliary systems. Students will apply thermodynamic principles in analyzing the process of converting heat to mechanical energy related to a steam turbine. Auxiliary systems covered include extraction steam systems, sealing systems, lubrication systems, and related control instrumentation and mechanisms. Prerequisite: PW 15013 Thermodynamics.
