Three major topical areas are addressed in this course: children's health; safety concerns and management; and nutrition. Emphasis is on the important role teachers play in promoting children's health and fostering their development of healthy attitudes, values, and practices. Basic fundamentals of good health and first aide will be explored as well as preventive measures. The students will prepare and present "curriculum units" on related topics.
