3 cr, 3 lec Presented in three parts. One part covers current affairs in the state, nation, and world, information useful to the broadcaster in presenting news reports. Another part covers broadcast speech practices such as projection, articulation, and phonetics. Another part deals with technical operational practices such as audio feeds, audio tape, meter readings, microphone usage, and FCC inspections. To pass this course, the student must maintain a passing grade in each part.
