4 cr, 3 lec, 1 rec, 2 lab, W, G Principles of structure and function of living things at the molecular, cellular, and organismic levels of organization. Includes molecular and cellular biology, genetics, viruses, bacteria, protista, and fungi. PRE: ENG 101 eligibility or appropriate reading score. One year of high school chemistry or one semester of college-level chemistry recommended. NOTE: Credit cannot be received in both BIO 100 and the BIO 181 ? C182 sequence. BIO 181-182 sequence is appropriate for students majoring in biology, environmental science, agriculture, and those pursuing pre-medical, pre-dental, or pre-pharmacy programs, 4-year degree in nursing, and certain other science or health related programs.
