Includes basic skills in music reading: clefs, meters, rhythm patterns, scales, keys, intervals, chords, basic transposition, and keyboard harmony. A basic course in music designed for the elementary classroom teacher, for the music major as a prerequisite of Music Theory 102, and the non-music major who desires to have knowledge of music fundamentals. Students displaying adequate competencies may apply to test out of this course.
