A study of health, safety and nutrition as they relate to the young child from prenatal to age six. Included will be basic factors that affect child health. Emphasis is on the provisions of a healthy environment for young children and the importance of good nutrition in developing and maintaining good health. Practical information on meal planning and preparation for families and children in day care group settings is also included. A major emphasis is on curriculum ideas to teach health, safety or nutrition education to the young child including parent involvement.
