This course includes types of cooking equipment, various steps in pulp processing, operating strategies and economics, and many varied steps in the actual manufacture of paper. Topics include steps and processes which do not require the extensive use and understanding of the laws of chemistry. Upon completion, students should be able to draw and follow a basic flow diagram of chips through the cooking/screening/cleaning process and to and through the paper machine. Prerequisites: PCT 111. (2-2-0)
