Therapist Assistant This course provides an introduction to the role and scope of practice of the Physical Therapist Assistant. Emphasis will be on educational preparation, historical overview of physical therapy in the healthcare system, professional affi liations, structure and function of physical therapy services, ethical and legal issues in healthcare and the demographics of disability. This course also provides an introduction to a self-study program in medical terminology. Prerequisite: Admission to the PTA program.
