The content of this course is the same as ENG 040. This course is recommended for the highly motivated, independent learner whose placement test(s) and English experience indicate the need for only a brief overview of basic English skills. Students review writing basics and develop writing skills through application and practice within the context of single- and multi-paragraph writing assignments. A TLC instructor will assess student progress; however, the student will be expected to complete the assignments with minimal help from an instructor. A score of 70% or higher in the class will meet the prerequisite for TLC 045 or ENG 050. Students should report to the Speckman Tutoring & Learning Center to develop a course completion plan. Enrollment is open until midterm.
