This course is designed to instruct the Medical Laboratory Technician on the proper identifi cation and handling of microorganisms in a clinical setting. The student will learn microorganism morphology, growth requirements, and speciation. The student will work with a variety of specimens and learn the intricacy for optimum isolation and identifi cation on common clinical microorganisms that might be present. Prerequisite: Grade of "C" or higher in all ofthe previous Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) courses.
