This course provides an introduction to techniques of mathematical reasoning and patterns of mathematical thought. Topics include logic and methods of proof, set theory, relations and functions, counting and cardinality, permutations, combinations and recursion, and algebraic structures. Prerequisite: Grade of "C" or higher in, or concurrent enrollmentin, MTH 141 or equivalent OR satisfactory score on the Mathematics Placement Assessment.
