This class is an introduction to diatonic harmony for all music majors, including the elements of pitch and rhythm, major and minor scales, major and minor key signatures, functional harmony of all diatonic chords in major and minor keys, voice leading and root position part writing. Prerequisite: Grade of C or better in MUS 110 or passing score on a music placement exam or Division Chair's permission. Concurrent enrollment in MUS 125 required.
