This course prepares the student to enter English 050 by focusing on the foundations of composition and by progressing from sentences to multi-paragraph writing assignments. Students review writing basics and develop writing skills through application and practice within the context of single- and multi-paragraphs and other writing assignments. Students enrolled in ENG 040 must complete the course with a grade of "NC" or higher in order to take ENG 050.
